2007 Golf Marathon
Our 3rd Golf Marathon was held on September 24, 2007 in Alpharetta, GA. For the first time, we didn't have any rain...it was sunny and HOT all day. Special thanks to The Vitamin Shoppe for being the overall sponsor for the 3rd year in a row! In addition, we had 13 corporate sponsors and 20 golfers who raised enough money to build a Mission House in Manila, Philippines. Construction of the home began two months after the tournament on land
A Time To Build purchased in 2005. The home was complete by early spring of 2008.
2006 Golf Marathon
Our 2nd Golf Marathon, held on October 9, 2006, was a great success! The weather was questionable at the beginning of the day, but by lunch the sun was shining bright displaying all the beauty of the fall season!
Special thanks to our friends at The Chambers Group who partnered with us to put this event together and The Vitamin Shoppe for stepping up as the overall sponsor of the event. In addition, 18 other companies sponsored a tee box and we had a total of 20 golfers who raised much needed funds for A Time To Build! This fundraiser allowed us to finish funding Pat’s Place and begin construction on a mission house in Ghana.
2005 Golf Marathon
On October 10, 2005, we held a Golf Marathon in Charlotte, NC. We would love to say the weather cooperated and it was a brisk, sunny fall day. Instead, it turned out to be cold and soggy as the rain began to fall at 7:00 A.M. and continued throughout the day. We were amazed and extremely grateful that 20 golfers not only showed up but they endured the elements and golfed all day long. One golfer summed it up by saying, "Being wet and uncomfortable is nothing compared to what the people go through in the countries we are raising money for. It's the least we can do." As a result, enough money was raised to fund the orphanage project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Thank you to The Vitamin Shoppe for sponsoring our event, the eighteen additional companies who sponsored a tee box and all the golfers who raised support!
