It’s Time for Change!
Not everyone in the world is blessed with the basic necessities in life. There are people who consider themselves lucky if they receive one meal a day; children around the world who are living on the streets and people without basic health care to help them recover from the most common illnesses. That’s where A Time To Build steps in. We impact the lives of poverty-stricken people, worldwide, by providing the funds necessary to build shelters such as soup kitchens, orphanages and medical clinics.
It’s easy to think, “What can I do about the poor in the world?” “I don’t have enough money to make a difference so what’s the point.” That’s like the story of an
old man who walked up a shore littered with thousands of beached starfish, dying after a storm. A young man was picking them up and flinging them back into the ocean. “Why do you bother?” the old man scoffed. “You’re not saving enough to make a difference.” The young man picked up another
starfish and sent it spinning back to the water. “Made a difference to that one,” he said.
This story is so true. Alone we can’t provide a home for all the world’s orphans; we can’t solve world hunger or provide medical care to everyone who is currently without this basic need. However, with your help, A Time To Build can and is making a difference in the lives of men, women and children one project at a time.
We’re asking you to participate in a unique and easy fund-raiser the whole family can participate in called “It’s Time For Change!”
Here’s how it works:
- Sign up to receive one of our “house” piggy banks by sending us an email at robin@attb.org or jerry@attb.org.
- Conveniently and visibly place the bank in your home or office.
- Each day, empty your pants pocket/wallet of all your silver coins and place the coins inside the bank.
- Continue to add coins until the bank is full.
- When your bank is full, cash in your coins at a local grocery store or anywhere there is a “coin change” machine and mail us a check for the amount you collected. The address is printed on the bank. You may also return the bank to us and we’ll cash in the coins.
- Going forward, we would be grateful if you continue to reuse the bank and send your donation.
- It’s that easy!
