Marotiere
Christian School
Mission:
Official estimates show that less than 45% of the population of Haiti will finish 8th grade and only 13% will receive a high school diploma. Sadly, the numbers are even lower in rural areas like Marotiere. This educational gap keeps most of the population paralyzed below the poverty line. This project included finishing construction on the "Espirit de Verite" Christian school where 150 students currently attend. The building modifications will provide room for 400 students.
Overseer:
The overseeing organization for this project was Hope for the Hungry located in Belton, TX. Dan and Kandy Kirkley founded the organization in 1982 as a result of Christ's command to Feed My Sheep. Hope for the Hungry is an interdenominational ministry dedicated to helping children around the world and to supporting the missionaries who are called to serve in these areas. The organization currently ministers in 20 different countries.
