Ferrier
Girl's Orphanage
Mission:
The vision was to finish construction of a partially completed orphanage, which houses young girls living in Ferrier, Haiti. The original home was erected in 1985 and construction of a new and larger facility began in 2001. The new building can house up to 40 girls and staff members. A Time to Build built a gated security wall around the property, purchased a diesel generator, electric pump, new beds and mattresses for the dormitories and installed modern indoor plumbing facilities. Jean Alix Paul is the director of the orphanage and is operating it on a daily basis.
Overseer:
The overseeing organization for this project was Hope for the Hungry located in Belton, TX. Dan and Kandy Kirkley founded the organization in 1982 as a result of Christ's command to Feed My Sheep. Hope for the Hungry is an interdenominational ministry dedicated to helping children around the world and to supporting the missionaries who are called to serve in these areas. The organization currently ministers in 20 different countries.
