Kabarondo
Church Building in Kabarondo
Mission:
The Kabarondo Good Shepherd Community Church, founded in 1999, has approximately 150 members. The original church, made from sticks and mud, collapsed June 2006 leaving the current members with no place to meet. The new church building holds approximately 300 people and has become a common gathering place for multiple churches in the immediate area. The new church has a stone foundation and kiln burnt bricks for the exterior walls. Church members provided as much free labor as possible to keep the costs down.
Overseer:
Simon Nziramakenga, Sr. Pastor of Good Shepherd Community Church was the overseer for this project. Pastor Nziramakenga joined Campus Crusafe for Christ in 1980 and served that ministry for 18 years. He started a Rwandese Christian Fellowship resulting in many refugees coming to Christ. He has been involved in planting 14 churches, (12 in Rwanda and two in the Congo), a Bible College, and a Primary School for many orphans of genocide and HIV Aids.
